Inside Sales Representative-Concrete Reinforcing Products

Mount Airy, NC - Corporate Office


Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Receive, read, and understand drawings submitted by customers and IWP engineering staff. (10 %)
  • Develops strong business relationships with customers. Communicates daily to update inquiries, orders, inventories, market trends. (10%)
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels for stock customers through communication with customer and District Sales Manager using analysis, current information, and historical data. Review special order items and seeks existing stock to fulfill order to keep aged inventory at a minimum. (15%)
  • Generates quotes as requested by customer within 24 hours to ensure high level of customer service in efforts to gain additional ESM business. Inputs all quotes into quote log daily. Duties to generate quotes are as follows: takeoffs from drawings for weight calculations, freight cost calculations, outside processing cost determination, and quote preparation in a professional format for customers and other agencies. (25%)
  • Processes orders for manufacture and shipments daily.  Includes scheduling orders with Production Control Supervisor, obtaining credit release, and coordinating shipment. Works in conjunction with Product Engineer as needed on special orders.  Secures new product information and submits to production as needed (25%)
  • Follows up on outstanding quotations in order to obtain purchase orders from customers. Reviews order shortfalls with District Sales Manager and Inside Sales Supervisor, jointly decide on appropriate action. Obtains information for processing new accounts, follows through processing and establishing credit. (7%)
  • Monitors daily production versus promised delivery dates. Takes appropriate measures if production is late, working through Production Control. (6%)
  • Handles claims and complaints with customers on a timely basis, while communicating with supervisor and District Sales Manager. Must handle according to Sarbanes Oxley Procedure guidelines. (1%)
  • Prepares various reports as necessary to provide information to other department staff. (1%)
