Under general supervision, works with other internal developers and outside vendors to evaluate, analyze and design, maintain, and enhance software packages and internally developed systems. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the objective of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyze and design databases within an applications area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. May supervise less senior developers and manage small projects. Assists in developing technical departmental standards in such areas as change control, configuration management, development methodology, and coding standards.
